ODBLink MX+

I picked up an ODBLink MX+, plugged it into my Fit, and the data started to flow. After some tweaking, I can see that my engine likes to sit around 180F when running around town. I also learned that my charging system likes to sit at 14.2 volts at all engine RPMs, with only brief, slight fluctuations when you do something like crank the A/C blower to full. I've noticed a few questions as to what "normal" is for our Fits, after people were seeing some numbers that weren't making sense.

If anyone has any questions that I may be able to answer with this little gizmo, I'm happy to try. Engine temp wasn't reading at first, but I'm learning that it's just a matter of telling the app what info to interpret. It looks like reading CVT temp won't be easy, but isn't impossible. That one will have to wait for a weekend project I think.

As a bonus, I was able to read the code on a friends Versa. Turns out his father just didn't put the fuel cap on quite right.

Screenshot of the App

I have a direct connection to the OBD port to my HUD. I find the temps like to hover around 85 to 88 C. I've been on long highway drives where the temps went above 100C.

I have several voltage gauges and a 51R battery. Voltage can range from about 13.8 to 14.1 +/- 0.1 Volts.

What year is your car? Do you ever go below 14 volts?

I'm driving a 2018 Sport w/CVT. I've never seen my voltage drop below 14 for more than a second or to. For example if I'm idling, and I crank the A/C blower from off to full, the voltage will briefly drop to about 13.8 for a second or to, then go right back up to 14.2.

Thanks. Just trying to research Honda's Electronic Load Detection. You have completely different part numbers and prices than my 2015 ELD and alternator.
