Wheel no longer locks itself after switching off engine
Hello..
since having problem of wheel alignment, I have also noticed that when i switch off the engine, the wheel no longer turns by itself and gets locked.
I thought that by doing wheel alignment ,the problem would get solved, but it still persists.
Anyone got the same problem ,and knows why the wheel of my car no longer gets locked?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Have you tried turning the steering wheel a bit after the engine is off? It should lock....mine has never locked without turning the wheel a bit after it's off, every car I've ever had has been that way....just a suggestion, good luck. I
Same here if we are talking about the steering wheel. After turning the key to the off position, the steering wheel will have a bit of play until it locks. If I don't mess with it, It won't actually be in the locked position generally speaking.
Automatic movement? I'm not sure what that means or that the Fit/Jazz ever had that ability. In terms of tightness, I've only every seen the steering wheel get tight if the steering system is under load or has "sprung" force put into it by me. It's always a pain in the neck when you go to turn the key and it's stuck because of the sprung tension on the wheel.
Based on how I'm reading the issue, I don't see the problem. Yours appears to behave the same as mine, my son's and my Dad's. And.... every car I've owned works similarly. The Fit/Jazz does not have auto steering for self driving or self parking so I fail to see how it would "move" the steering wheel. I may be wrong or maybe I'm missing the point.
