Question 3D printed Sumole ducting

Hello guys,

I know the sumole air duct for the GK is super hard to come by and I know there was someone in the group who has 3D printed some replicas. I searched the forum and found the dude, but I don't know if he got my message.
I was hoping someone else may have the 3D schematics on the air duct? One of my homies has a 3D printer and said he would print it for me if I can send him the schematics.

Does anyone have a file of it?

No, can't say as I do, but was in on the original buy offered by him some years ago, seems to be a cool piece......if they could do the 3D printed ones in black, would be cool .....seem to remember them being kind of flesh or tan color, or something,,,,the Sumole duct clipped right in same as stock, just had to remove the rubber flap under the edge of the hood, no big deal. Wish you luck

I've searched high and low for the original Sumole Air Coolers (that's what they're called) and found a few available from Carousell in Singapore. But for some strange reason the Singaporians all refuse to ship to the U.S. So I said, "Screw 'em" and found new ones available straight from the company in Taiwan. They even modified it to fit the facelifted 2018+ Honda Fits.

Yeah, I forgot the "Air Cooler" part, Guess there was a large enough market for them overseas to bother with producing them, but fits perfect and looks like it could've been stock from the factory, honestly....

It's been some years, have no idea.....a fellow forum member got ahold of at least several and sold them here.....cannot recall the price, but it's a nice piece, really.....seemed a lil pricey at the time, but....I like it, fits like a factory piece if you remove the rubber flap under the edge of the hood.

The brand new air cooler itself was around $85 USD, The shipping from Taiwan was around $35 USD + a small service charge of a few bucks. Took about 1 week to get here. You'll definitely notice the stronger pull once the car gets up to speed when more air gets "rammed" into the intake.

That is not an air cooler. An intercooler is a real air cooler. The stock part does it replaces does the exact same thing. It just draws air from the grille area instead of between the hood. These cars do not move enough air to need "ram air" style "intake cooling", which is only moving the intake opening up a few inches. You people think that moving the location will make a huge power increase. In fact it most likely won't do anything at all. There is nothing really wrong with the Honda design to start with, for the performance of the car they designed.

These are just homemade gimmick parts from that one company, nothing more. Nothing dyno tested, no real power gains.

You can take the hood off completely. That may "ram" some cold air into your engine bay. And still won't make your car any faster. lol

Thats cool man, your opinion is valid. However, I wanted to do it for my car, so its why I'm inquiring.

You can do as you please on your Fit, I won't tell you that you can't. As long as you like what you have done to your Fit thats all that matters.
I am doing what I want to my Fit, and thats what I like. And me liking my car is all that matters to me. I drive my car, you drive your car. Lets just agree that these cars are fun, and disagree on how we make them our own. Thats what makes cars unique.

It's a honda fit, We all know there is no real power to be gained unless you are dropping $$$ into it. It still doesn't mean I cannot enjoy putting things on my car.

In a similar vein, all those people with the fake ebay "Type R" badges on their cars will gain them an additional 5 horsepower and 10 MPH top speed!

I was one of the first people to get that from TM and I still like the piece.

Here's some info on the install and my experience. You're not going to get gobs of power or significant better MPG, but it does feel stronger as you accelerate. Would I get it again? Definitely.

Glad to hear it's still treating you well 2Rismo2. I just purchased a Sumole duct through a Taiwanese shopping agent and will update when it's received. Fingers crossed! Likely will end up using the stock duct during the winter, then using the Sumole during the spring/summer.
