So my girlfriend is looking at a new car. We test drove the Hyundai Veloster.
And those seats are awesome.
Has anyone thought about swapping them into a Fit? I have no idea what that might entail.
The biggest obstacle would be airbag integration. If Hyundai doesn't use the same software to activate and monitor the airbags as Honda, they are now effectively airbag-less if installed.
That could hurt resale value, and I doubt your insurance company would be happy, as you've just defeated a key safety feature.
But don't let me stop you. Depends how much you like the Hyundai seats as opposed to the stock Hondas.
I agree with OP, the stock GK5 seats leave a lot to be desired.
Especially for those who've done even light suspension modifications, the seats are the weakest link.
I'm not concerned with the side are bags, as they aren't the reason why I purchased the FIT.
I've been looking at Corbeau's, as they are a fraction of Recaro's.
Let us know if you find a sporty seat that fit's

agreed. I'm lowered on KWs, and while they handle nicely, they make for a much rougher ride. And the seats are definitely economy level. I have Wet Okole seat covers which add a bit of padding, and lumbar support. but its only so much.
those veloster seats were comfy and had good side support
we'll see if i can figure something out i'll updat here
the fit has a higher floor under the seats to accommodate the gas tank , i don't think any other seats would be readily adaptable .
but yea , i've thought about myself , the stock seats are terrible . i have a few chassis mods , mostly bracing , and i love the feel of the car on the highway .
but i dread the idea of a long road trip with those seats . maybe seats from the HRV can be adapted , it's built on the same platform as the fit

I had a 2013 Veloster Turbo before coming to my 2020 Honda Fit Sport. Mine were leather with seat warmers. I have to say that moving to the Veloster seats might not be that great a thing. Although they do provide better support (stiffer side bolsters on both the seat and back-rest) I found them tiring on long trips. I did a couple of trips from Vancouver to California with my kids. Also, oddly enough, for the "premium" seat, they are still manually operated. On the leather seats, my but slid a bit (and I am not a small person) also, when exiting, my thigh and left side always rubbed on the bolsters. In fact they rubbed so much that the leather ripped (most likely because of the rivets on my jeans.) Overall, I find the seat and back-rest of the Fit much more forgiving for long-distance driving. Like I said, I am a larger frame so a lighter person might not suffer the same fate with the stiffer seats. I have not tried the newer (second Gen Veloster) seats.
The only thing I want to change about the driver's seat on my fit, is...I need more leg room. I wish I had another click or two to push the whole seat back. My legs get tired on long trips. Getting a nicer aftermarket seat might be a better/cheaper alternative.
In general a seat swap is an interesting topic nowadays. There are several electric components connected to the vehicle computers in the seat. For example airbags and sensors monitoring if the seat is occupied. If you could rip these things off the original seat and mount to another, then it could be possible. But I have seen a thread where somebody put Civic seats to his Fit and didn't find the way to get everything working. Especially the sensor telling if the seat is occupied was not accepted by the vehicle computer.
Now that you mentioned electrics...I lied, the veloster seat was not all mechanical. It had electric lumbar support adjustment and the seat airbags. You will most certainly not be able to use either of those components in a seat transplant.
