How do I reprogram a MICU? The only way I can talk to the Fit is using a Honda Diagonis System (HDS) version 3.103.066.
Working on my 2015 EX Fit with push start.
I have to replace the cabin fuse box since I discovered the wrong fuse box was installed after a front end accident. I think the fuse box is referred to as the MICU. I installed a correct recycled fuse box but unfortunately the Immobilizer is active and engine starts and immediatley turns off because of the immobilizer.
I am confused as to what needs to be reprogrammed on the fuse box/MICU. Is it the EEPROM or ECU, or some other chip I have not read about. If I need to reprogram a chip can the HDS do it?
Keyless Access System - Register
NOTE: If the under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, go to step 1. If the original under-dash fuse/relay box is installed, go to step 6.
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
3. Select ONE-PUSH START from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select REGISTRATION.
4. Select the REPLACE MICU, then select the suitable menu from the HDS indications.
5. After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.
Dear Howarejew,
Thanks for the reply, no luck with reprogramming the MICU. I followed the instructions but once I get to the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU and click on the ON-PUSH START button nothing happens, I am not advance to the next screen. I do notice the top left corner of the HDS screen, like where the address bar is located, it reads as follows, "FIT-2015 ONE-PUSH START MODE" is illuminated in green but the word MODE is highlighted in red, see attached photo circled in yellow. When I click on any other buttons from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU the word MODE is highlighted in green.
Any suggestions?
Yes sir. All of the other functions open when I click on them, like Immobi, TPMS, etc, all of the buttons that apply work and the Mode turns green except for the One Push Start. FYI, ran DTC and no errors noted on the ONE-PUSH START. Thanks again for your assistance. Respectfully, Mike.
You are probably right. I copied the web address from an Internet Explore pop-up window every time I interface the HDS to the FIT. Pictured below is the results from a Google web search. Looks my pirated HDS device needs to be logged into Honda's website to unlock some of the menu items like ONE-PUSH START. I wonder how much Honda charges for a password?
Update.
Had to take the vehicle into a Honda dealership who was willing to replace and reprogram my used MICU, total cost $240, $150 for dealer to R&R and reprogram MICU plus $90 for purchase price of the recycled MICU. Well worth it because now I have use of the hatchback release and a bunch of other little things work now with the correct MICU installed. Four items I noticed so far since the correct MICU installed: 1. Hatchback release works, 2. Auto all door locks when the vehicle moves about 40 feet. 3. All doors automatically unlock after open driver's, after engine stop, 4. Electronic Beep instead of no audible alert when I wave my hand inside the side door latch to unlock vehicle door. 5. Electronic beep instead of the louder blast from vehicle's horn when I double click the FOB to lock vehicle. Thanks again to everyone who read and posted tips and tricks. CASE CLOSED.
Yup. I'm a Honda technician. It takes the same login as their website for us. They're not gonna want to just give access to that stuff away, otherwise how would guys like me make our money?
