Idle was a little off before allllll these lights flipped on.

9am: I took it to the dealership appointment.
4pm: they had said P0303 code came up =
came up only cylinder #3 was misfiring.
But they didn't know why. The tried switching the coil and spark plugs to different cycliners.
They wanted to keep it overnight and do a cold start to see "what happens" if more codes "come up". They wanted to take my intake manifold off and put a borescope in it.
Me: is that even covered by any warranties I have?
Dealership: No.
Me: then don't do that. That sounds super expensive. But you can keep my car overnight and I will pick it up right after you do the cold start.

10am: they called me to let me know that they did the cold start. Now all the cycliners are missfiring.
And its due to carbon build up!
Me:...on a 17,000 miles car...? Its THAT dirty.
Dealership: Yes. But we can check if fuel injectors are covered under your extended warranty. But we need you to do a $700 carbon cleaning before we can install the new fuel injectors (if the extended warranty covers the new injectors.)
Me: $700 is a lot of money. You can call the warranty company and see if its covered. And get the injectors installed.
Dealership: *long akward pause* I'll call to see if covered. But we will not replace the injectors unless you do the carbon cleaning. Thats $700 dollars to do.
Me: I'll shop around to see where I can do a carbon cleaning done. $700 is dealership pricing. A independent mechanic would have competitive pricing for me. (at the point I wanted to get my car out of there for a 2nd opinion)
Dealership: ah.. Oh... Okay.
Me: Can you please call the extended warranty and let me know if fuel injectors replacement are covered.
We end call.
I text him to release my car I'm going to pick it up.
Heres a copy of the report.
Called around several mechanics shops all were telling its weird the dealer saying "carbon build up" on a 2018 honda with only 17k miles leading to missfiring and for me to go to a different dealership for 2nd opinion. Aswell as someone on reddit's fit subbreddit.
Welcome. Unfortunately, fouled injectors are still common on late model Fits; search this subforum for details. They cause all kinds of problems downstream, esp. fouling the cat.
I would immediately initiate lemon law in your state if applicable. In most states, generally three tries to get it fixed, then Honda is forced to purchase the vehicle back from you at the original purchase price.
Of course, Honda will fight this all the way, but if you already have fouled injectors, just replacing them won't help, as other damage has probably already occurred. That's why I would lemon law this one and find a vehicle without this design flaw.
In the meantime you're risking more possible damage driving your Fit in this condition. When you want to keep your car in great running form, sometimes you have to pony up the money to pay for repairs that are expensive. That's the way it goes owning a car.
Me? I would have paid the 700 dollars for the carbon cleaning.
