This might be helpful. Not sure what you are trying to do but if you're trying to do a retrofit I'd look for a kit like this one.

Unfortunately it's not available but it will give you an idea of what's required. It's a big job. Had to remove the dash and doors to route the wires as well as remove some wires from their terminals to fit them through. Also there were some slight modification needed to adapt the JDM parts to fit into a US mirror housing. Overall worth it but not for someone who isn't comfortable with all that.

I got JDM mirrors so I don't need to retrofit the motors. I'm guessing that I'm gonna need to use a controller, for the control of folding...

Yeah I don't know about the JDM ones you might need to crack it open and trace the wires. On mine, I have 3 for the mirror positioning and two for the motor that folds the mirrors. I'm guessing the other two are for the side blinkers. My wire colors don't match yours at all. For the controller, you could use an H bridge to swap the polarity or a set of SPDT relays if you want something more traditional. Not sure how you would determine it's time to fold the mirrors.

Any tips on how to split the mirror open?

Yeah watch this video from Bassguitarist1985. Towards the middle he goes over how to remove the skull cap from the mirror which is the hardest part. He has some other videos and quite a few posts on this forum that can help if you get stuck.

After many years of playing chicken with the side mirror and a garbage can, my distance judgment was off. Cracked the outer cover and shattered the mirror. Looking to replace my mirrors with the JDM or aftermarket style that all have the 7 pin connector. Has anyone purchased the 7 wire mirrors and swapped over to the 4 pin USDM connector? Haven't looked to see if the wire gage and pin style/length are the same between the two connectors or not. Obviously this wouldn't carry over the folding or LED function, but I'm not really concerned about that at the moment.

Looking at getting these https://www.ebay.com/itm/316549336237. Anyone purchased these?
