The screen on my 2018 fit sport cracked and while all other models appear readily on ebay for $100, for the life of me I can't find one that matches. It's the type that is all touchscreen plus a volume knob.
If anybody has upgraded and has their old stock radio sitting in the garage or otherwise knows where to find one, I'd be happy to buy it off you.
Weeks of pent up emotional stress over the holidays followed by a long physically and emotionally distressful and sleepless night, followed by a long emotionally stressful day followed by a particularly emotional event and instead of hitting the armrest or steering wheel or something soft like a normal person would do, I went for the most fragile and expensive thing on the dash.
Update to this if anybody else needs to do a swap.
The part number for the us version screen is 39170-T5R-A21, the part number for the whole radio unit including screen is 39100-T5R-A21 (or 39100-T5R-A21RM - RM meaning remanufactured/refurbished) - both are available online at honda parts direct and the like for about $600
The part number for the canadian version of the whole radio unit is 39100-T5R-C81
I know the canadian part number because I ended up finding a salvage unit on ebay for $200 and took a chance on it. When I swapped the whole unit it demanded a security code (in french) - not surprised.
Fortunately, the screens are identical, so 4 screws and 3 clips and 1 ribbon cable and it's a 10 minute job to swap the screens from one unit to the other and reinstall the original radio. My suspicion that all the security is in the radio electronics was confirmed, the screens are just dumb displays and don't care what radio they're hooked to.
Good as new! And I saved who knows how many thousands vs paying a dealership to do it.
All told the whole fix took maybe 90 minutes - definitely not something to be scared of if you're handy, the hardest part was finding a unit on ebay since they're pretty rare.
Now to see if I can sell that canadian radio on ebay to recover a couple bucks
Minor side mention: I bought a tempered glass protective cover for the screen on my Canadian 2018 LX Fit. It's similar to the ones used to cover cell phone screens. Although it says for the Honda Odyssey it was also a perfect match for the 2018 Fit with a hole for the radio knob. I bought it primarily to protect the screen from scratches. This one has to be installed carefully since it has a powerful adhesive - no do overs. No effect on touch screen functionality. And no, probably won't prevent damage from a fist.
