Spark Plugs - How often do you change them?

Spark Plugs - How often do you change them?

In the owners manual, the only mention I could find was "maintenance code 4"
Since i don't follow that nonsense, is there a mileage or age I should be changing them?
My 2016 has 43k miles. It idles decently smooth and gets good mileage.

78,000 miles - not yet. I'm not looking forward to it. I bought narrow plug wrench, but they're at the rear of the engine, and I'll have to remove the coils. I liked the old days when you could more or less see the plug, and with an assortment of extensions and U-joints, you could remove the plugs. I'll wait for warmer weather.

Coils are just part of the process on anything even remotely recent. No big deal. Just one bolt each.
As for plugs, yeah, it's just a tiny bit harder because it's on the back side of the engine bay, with little room below the cowl trim.
Many people will remove the whole cowl, but I was able to do it without touching the cowl.

I couldn't get a specialty u-joint socket with extension to go in due to the cowl being in the way, so I used shorter one, and then used various length extensions.
I had to attach & detach the extension during the process due to clearance, but it wasn't that bad. I think it's easier than removing the whole cowl.

Don't forget to vacuum the area after removing the coils. I'd hate for anything to get in there while plug is out.

Related - I made up a toolbox just for the Fits. It has all the tools and things I'll need when working on one. I was looking forward to using it when I worked on my son's car yesterday. Naturally, I couldn't find it. : )

EDIT: I just noticed the last line about rotating tires. I saw the 10,000, and I assumed that was "miles." Converting to km, it's about 6,000 miles. I've been rotating mine every 5,000 miles. However, since all the mileage figures refer to km, I'm behind on the plug change. I'll wait till it gets warmer.

EDIT: I just noticed there's a "Severe Conditions" schedule for oil and filter. I'll admit that I fit into "A".
That's also the frequency I replace my oil and filter at (oil every 6 months and filter once per year).

Funny, the dash oil change indicator does not take into account any of the conditions mentioned above.
Just goes to show that it's not accurate to begin with.

Standard deep socket with a mid length extension and a small telescoping magnet for easy removal gets you around that cowl problem
