Question Bought JDM late 2013 fit (3rd gen) Weird fisheye effect on reverse camera?

Hi all,

Have been googling this to no avail and I bought a 3rd Gen JDM fit, there is an aftermarket radio in it replacing the japanese unit. On the reverse camera there is a very strange light balance and extreme fisheye effect on the camera. The radio is a kinda cheap Pioneer unit, would this be something to do with it?

Id planned to upgrade the radio anyway to an Android Auto unit, so I'm kinda hoping that is the problem.

Hard to say. But I would put the stock OEM radio back in it for sure. To clear up any future issues.

I am in Japan and have a 3rd Gen Fit. The Gathers AV system has three settings for the reverse camera. Very narrow, normal and very wide. The very wide setting has a strong fisheye effect and looks terrible. Maybe yours is stuck in very wide mode?

Yep that sounds pretty much on the ball. I'll sort out replacing the camera in that case!

the camera may be fine, it is likely something you should be able to control and the control is either no longer there or you have not found it yet

Hey, I have been professionally installing 12V for about 30 years and i ran into this alot. whenever you install an aftermarket screen on Honda/Acura and try to retain the stock back up cam it always ends up looking like fisheye lens. unfortunately there is no way to fix this other then getting an aftermarket camera.

Theres highly unlikely to be any function in any aftermarket radio to change the mode of the camera unfortunately, but thats ok!
