Battery won't charge, weird woodpecker noises coming from fuse box and power relay

Hi.
I have a 2015 fit. About 60k miles and battery is from 2020.
It appears one of the cabin interior lights was left on for about 48 hours.
Car wouldn't start. Cabin light barely illuminated.
Car would NOT charge with a portable car charger or jumper cables and another car.
Very woodpecker/repetitive clicking noises coming from fuse box and power delay.
Please give me advice before I tow the car to Honda.
I'm "freaking" out.
Thank you.

Push Button Start?

Did you replace your push start button?

There's a recall issue with push start buttons on 3rd gen Fits. This is a free no charge replacement at Honda.

i guess that's good news.
the clicking noises are strange.
my previous honda was silent when the battery was gone.
what causes those clicking noises?
thanks.

The battery voltage is too low. The mechanical relays try to connect but the voltage is too low to hold them and so they disconnect but then they connect again ...and disconnect, over and over again. The relay arms are bouncing back and forth unable to hold a connection because the battery is too weak and thus the clicking sound they produce as they repetitively make and break contact. If the battery voltage goes lower then the relays won't even make the effort and the noise will be gone.

i think the battery voltage is too low....this is going to sound crazy but disconnect battery and let it sit 24 hrs, (voltage should rise a tiny bit) THEN try and charge it with a wall pluggable charger

perfect explanation. thank you. i had a 1998 civic until 2015 and don't recall this noise at all.
i did get AAA to come and they tested the battery, said it's fine....they fully charged it and noise is gone.
thanks.

1999 civic hatchback till 2015.....they don't make em like they use too !...lol...200,00 kms on it...water pump leak...had enough .got the fit because of the increased HP with the direct injection...my bad!!!---roll eyes

Woof called it also

so long as your "up and running" all good!!

Worth keeping in mind for someday if you have to replace the battery to make sure you put in the larger 51R battery instead of the Honda OEM small 151R battery. The large 51R adds a lot of capacity which might avoid situations like this. It's a tight fit but it does go in.
