Hybrids are increasingly popular here as people back away from pure electric because of range anxiety. However Fit is still a small car and Honda finds it easier to sell the larger HRV in America..

I think the rear tail lights are ugly. The best thing you can say about this Fit is that it's newer technology is being proven in ..... elsewhere.

With no "small" car available from Honda, people will look to Toyota and Nissan.

Would love to get an E Fit.

Yeah, my Fit will be 10 years old in about 6 months (got it June, '14). I like small cars. The Fit is it. I'll stay with the Fit till it's not worth keeping. Very happy with that car.

That's when I got mine - 2014. It took months to find one, and I had to drive from NY to Maine to get mine. Three days later, my son found one an hour away. Fortunately, that one was totaled a year later. It had the bad fuel injectors, and all the dealer would do was charge for useless work. He now has a 2020 Fit, which is considerable better than my 2015.

When I buy my next car, chances are it won't be a Honda. With the Fit no longer available, I'll shop around. I have about 85,000 miles on mine, so it's good for a few more years.

That's interesting. I ordered mine with a manual and just picked it up from the dealer June of 14. The times I brought it in to the dealer to have work done, I'd ask it they have another Fit that I could use while my car is being worked on and about three times over the years, they did have a newer model Fit to lend me. All were automatics and with all, I couldn't wait to get my car back because I really didn't like the others. Since I no longer drive a lot for work and my present job is so close, I only have about 73k miles on it Overall, I'm real happy with it. Who knows, at 70 years old, it may be the last car I own the way it keeps on working.

I hate we don't get the Fit, but I get Honda's thinking.
They know that policy here pushes for larger and heavier cars each year. The battery pack on a lot of EVs weighs as much as the Fit. Americans will consider a not that wonderful HRV before ever looking at a small hatchback.
Every maker is doing compact SUVs. Heavier and worse and not at all good off road, but we'll buy em and heck well even pay more for em!
It's stupid, but it is our Way.

I wonder how many people bought the HR-V just because they couldn't get a Fit, and the HR-V is almost identical - except for the increased size, weight, and price. Oh, yeah - it uses more gas, too.

As far as looks go for small cars. I like the Corolla Hatchback over the Mazda Hatchback.

The Corolla Hatchback might be CVT only for 2023. I'd also want to know what drives the cams (belt or chain).

I hear ya. I was strictly talking about looks. For the last 40 years or so, I've been only buying cars in a manual. For me to get an auto, even with paddle shifters, is so foreign to my way of driving. At times driving a manual can be a pain, but it's mainly an experience of actual driving. When I rented cars for travel and got them as cars to drive while my car was being worked on, I see the advantage of automatics but also see the boredom of them.

I believe the Corollas have all been chain for a long time now.

Well, I sat in a HRV when I was waiting to drive a new Civic Hatch. Immediately discovered I made the better choice. The seats on the HRV are not comfortable and form fitting like the GE Fit or Civic They're uncomfortably hard, which these days is really unusual to find, simply because there's no reason a somewhat decent seat can't be fitted to any car at low cost. I wonder if they specify it so that people will trade up to a CRV... "oh gosh hon, there's no way this is going to work, can we look at the bigger model real quick...?"

I can't drive any Toyota. They insist that they won't sell you a tilt adjustable headrest, making all their seats pain inducing after a few minutes. It's like they can't accept that not every American prefers a hunchback of Notre Dame spinal arrangement.

Father in law just bought a RX350. For $55k you'd think they could find some pennies for an item that my $29k Subaru has standard. What's luxurious about neck pain? Nothing.
