Is Your Digital Dashboard Getting "Glitchy"?

Mine is.

It flashes on and off for the first 15 minutes after I start my Fit after sitting overnight.

Then when the engine warms up the digital readout is fine.

My Honda advisor and tech says it's because the soldering points are losing their conductivity.

The fix is to get a whole new dasboard since the digital portion is part of the whole dashboard.

All total out the door is north of a grand.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Don't have the "problem" yet, but, if it didn't affect anything else, I'd leave it be, but....I'm a retired old bassturd

That's what I'd like to do.

Unfortunately my digital dash readout will go blank and not display any info.

I'm going to get a new digital dashboard this summer.

Just pull out the gauge cluster and touch up the solder connections on the back. Check youtube tutorials

There are alot of soldering points to solder.

It would be easier just to get a new dashboard gauge cluster.

I'm just going to get a new dashboard gauge cluster installed by Honda Service Tech.

If you're planning to replace the part there's little harm and potentially a big benefit in trying to fix your current cluster. You either learn a new skill and keep $1000 in your pocket or your repair is unsuccessful and you pay the >$1000 you're already planning to spend.

this. Or if you have a friend or relative that is handy with a soldering iron it's literally a 5 min job. (not including pulling the cluster out)
