Passenger shock removal

Got all my shocks/struts done besides my right front. Can’t get the hex/nut to break loose and the nut is pretty well stripped.

is there something that I’m missing, and what’s my next option to get this thing off.

whizzy wheel next lol

use some heat on the nut should help loosen them.

Nut splitter. Anything else will be a heavy time expenditure. GL

any picture on this?

You should be able to keep the shaft from spinning using a vice grip.

@Jsargent1 Gearhead Bryan on YouTube has some really good, really short videos on this sort of thing. Sorry I don't have a link to the exact one you need.

Had this exact same issue but on the left front. 2017 EX 116,000..2nd owner. Original owner lived on the wet side of the island and the top nut was completely seized/frozen. Neither penetrating lube nor heat worked so I resorted to using a cutoff wheel on the nut and once it was slotted it spun right off. OEM struts and shocks, not sure why only the one side but it was a PITA. Right front was a breeze

i'm planning to change the struts later this year . been anticipating a problem with those nuts so i'll have a new set on hand before i even start the job . a slice down the side of the nut with a dremal or small wizwheel is all it should take . not a big deal . my '19 has 64k on the odometer , looking at a set of Bilsteins

Got it off with a cut off wheel, put a notch all the way across it, and it spun off no problem. 3/4 were super easy.

I got the kyb’s all the way around. Much easier if you just get the full assembly for a little bit more, comes with everything you need plus AN UPGRADED NUT that you can actually get some grip on! lol
