Importing a 2023 hybrid Fit Crosstar from Japan
Ever since selling my 2013 Fit Sport, I've missed owning a Fit. So I am very excited to be in the process of importing a hybrid 2023 Fit Crosstar model from Japan to the Cayman Islands. Before I transfer the money, however, I just wanted to check in here as I do my due diligence.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
- The infotainment unit is in Japanese. Do I need to find a replacement unit to switch the language to English (my research indicates that I must replace it)? If yes, where best to find a replacement unit?
- This Fit model is not sold in North America AFAIK so I'm wondering where I can source a replacement. Happy to consider a new Honda one or an after-market unit. Happy to consider self-install as well if its simple enough.
- The vehicle only comes with one key, what's the best approach for having a secondary key made?
- Where is the best place these days to purchase model-specific or items that will fit my fit such as carpet mats, seat covers, a trunk liner, a trunk cover, door window visors.
- Do I have any chance of sourcing an English repair manual somewhere? Would a Honda Jazz manual from England work?
- Further down the line: sourcing bodykits and parts like a spoiler. What would be the best approach?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
