Odd Display/Radio Behavior
Odd Display/Radio Behavior
I was driving into town this morning, and the radio/display was dark. I hit the power button (2015 Fit), but that did nothing. Since I was driving, I wasn't getting into details. After pressing the power button a few more times, I got a display. "Anti-Theft System. The power to your navigation system has failed. Press and hold the power button for two seconds or longer." I don't have a navigation system, but I pressed the button for two seconds or more. After doing this several times, the display came on, but not the radio. I tapped the power button, and the radio came on. Definitely weird.
The battery hadn't gone dead or been disconnected. I hope to get a new battery tomorrow, though, a 51R.

This can happen if the battery is disconnected or certain fuses pulled for a certain period time. Car settings, including the radio, adaptive cruise control and the like are lost and have to be reconfigured, I guess some juice to maintain some non-essential memory setting is stored in the internal electronics but that drains away slowly when the battery is disconnected.
Not unique to the Fit. You can buy jumper cables to connect another battery to the car's OBD II system to maintain these memory settings while you have the regular battery disconnected. Most require another car battery but I bought one that just uses a 9V battery. Haven;t tried it yet. Supposedly good for about an hour with a fresh battery.

I have one of those 9v battery savers, but I've never used it. I would turn off all the interior lights before using it.
Radio Glitches.
Sometimes my EX radio acts strange.
There are times when I can't change radio stations.
Then the radio turns off by itself. But the radio station still plays on.
None of the radio controls work. Volume, change stations, on and off switch.
The right side and back up camera are still working.
When I turn off the car and start it the radio controls and display work normally.
