My New Battery

Whoopee! A new, larger, more powerful, cheaper battery.

By getting this larger 51R for my Honda Fit, I have a battery with 425 CCA vs 370 CCA of the standard battery. It also saved me $60. My car has a battery tray that lets the larger battery drop right in, but some Fits have to modify the tray or buy a new one.

The red wire runs to a fuse panel inside the car, and it's controlled by a switch so I can have 12v power when the car isn't running. The black fuse holder and black wire are for a Battery Tender smart charger.

That rusty bolt on the right is for a hydraulic hood support. I can't find one for my son's 2020, though. They don't seem to make them for the Fit anymore.

@SilverEX15 Sounds like a successful outcome. Could you post a pic of the entire engine bay?

Yes, I will. However, that will require me to change out of my pajamas and go out into the snow. 😂

Just for comparison, my MegaLiFe MV-19L (Group 151R).

MegaLiFe MV-19L LiFePO4 Battery
MegaLiFe MV-19L LiFePO4 Battery

Main CCA: 650A
Spare CCA: 200A (built-in emergency startup)
Total CCA: 850A

Yeah, it's hecka expensive, but I got mine back when things were cheaper, and I got 15% off deal, so it cost me $382 back in 2024.

My son has the 151R in his 2020. The cheapest (only) one he could find cost $173. My 51R cost $118.

I don't want any extra "combustion" under the hood. 😁
