This is the second time I've had the driver side mirror damaged and this time it was folded in.
The skull cap assembly (not sure of the lower part name) was smashed to bits, but otherwise it seems to be ok.
Last time i bought a replacement assembly from an ebay dealer ($290), but wonder if there is a more affordable option.
Not sure if i could just replace the skull cap assembly but they seem almost as expensive as a full mirror.
Are aftermarket mirror assemblies any good or not worth it?
Curious to hear any experience with aftermarket mirrors or ideas I'm not thinking of.
I can't speak to your main questions regarding best place to buy or Honda vs aftermarket, but wanted to suggest looking at junk/scrap yards. For $290 I feel like you could grab a couple and have spares.
I had a GD3 ('08 Sport) in blue. One day hit the passenger side mirror on a construction road barrel that was sticking out farther than the others and I didn't catch it in time.
I went to various used auto part aggregators - www.car-part.com / www.picknpull.com / etc. and eventually found what I needed, and in the right color.
It's much easier to replace the entire mirror assembly than mess with the shroud, especially if some of the attachments to the shroud are broken.
I still have my OEM EX non blinker skull cap in the same colour as your car. Unfortunately, I won't have access to these parts until Easter weekend. I might have the underside but not 100%.

I'm just not looking at the right places. bargainguy's link below has a wider range of pricing.

Thank you for the links. car-part.com is great! especially once I figured out how to search photos.

I don't have the blinker mod on my 2018 Fit Sport. Keep me posted. Even if I replace the assembly, I think keeping this damaged one as a spare if I can attach a skull cap and underside will come in handy if it happens again. Which at this point seems inevitable in my neighborhood.
Thank you everyone here. Car-part.com was a great resource. I Was able to get a used mirror in correct color for $100 plus $40 shipping. One of the better prices i have seen.
i’m getting better at installing this part, only lost one nut in the door. Luckily there was one on replacement.
