My local dealer just sent me an invite to attend their 2015 Fit Launch Party on May 8. Hopefully test drives will be offered!

 

I wonder what "passed" food & beverages is?

 

Today, Modesto Honda said May 15th. *shrug*

 

It means:
1 They offer you food that has been passed off by everyone else,
2. Someone comes around passing out food to you?
3. After eating you will be passing gas, making for an uncomfortable test drive

I wondered this myself.

 

no, "passed food" refers to the fact that these are the methane powered versions of the new Fit. After eating an unpalatable plate of food, you are issued an "exhaust tube," bringing new meaning to the concept of direct fuel injection.

 

Hey, that's where I got my Accord from six years ago when I lived near Boston. The finance manager there spent 2 hours trying to convince me to get their rip-off $500 paint protection dealer add-on until I finally gave in. I didn't get an invitation to the Fit event though I wonder if it's open to anyone who shows up that day. Probably, right?

Lucky you that you got invited, did you signup on the Honda website for updates or anything like that?

 

I would bet that this would be a fairly open event or easy to crash if you just show up. I bought my 2010 Fit there. Good price and trade, however they did put a lot of effort into trying to sell the after sale useless stuff. I stood firm and didn't bite, but it did waste another hour in the transaction.

 

OMG i hope the dealer up here does something like this - i will just tell them TAKE MY MONEY NOWZ!

Very disappointed. I showed up at the dealer's promptly at 6 for the event and no Fit! Of course they didn't have a good explanation. Said Honda hadn't released the Fit to them. Something's up.

 

Indeed, that is disappointing!
And clearly something is up and it must be more than Mulroney stickers.

That sucks. I would've been there too if I was in the area. Did a lot of other people show up for this? Did you at least get your "passed food" or free car wash vouchers? You can get those vouchers anytime for free just by asking, btw. They have a drawers full of them in the service department and sometimes they will give you several of them just to get rid of you as fast as possible.

 

No such luck with the handouts. Just s promise that they would send out a new invite when the phantom Fit arrives. I only saw a couple of other invitees there. We should have caused a disturbance. Maybe the dealer would have handed out some goodies to get rid of us. lol
