ZIPCAR and the 2015 Honda FIT
End of this year and ZipCAr starts its Honda Fit fleet.

Zipcar introduces one-way service with the 2015 Honda Fit | New and Used Car Reviews, Research & Automotive-Industry News & LeftLaneNews
A growing co. that made its first profit in 2012. Then doubled it or more in 2013. These guys haven't been reading posts from FF on the "made in Mexico"debate. Nor the CVT presumed dire issues. What about the loss of space? cupholders?????????? ..........................etc..............
On top of that, they are going to field 2015 GK models. Don't they realize its the first year??? They missed the posts of the predicted MASS recalls that will happen on "every first year" vehicle.
Why didn't they pick the Fiesta, Focus, Mazda 3 or 2, Korean makes????
Had to start this thread. Was'nt getting enough daily response from the non-driving GK doubters. We need some healthy debate boys!!!

Its a large potential gamble for them.
For me and probably anyone else with 2+ cars, its no problem, but when you put 20-30% of your total fleet (and your income) into one certain thing, its a potential recipe for disaster.
All it takes is for a serious safety recall to happen and suddenly they will start a loss of revenue for 1-5 days, or potentially more.
I'm not sure how this particular "rental" company works since we don't have anything like this near my area, but I can only imagine.
I wish them luck, and maybe they will get the luck of the draw (me too, with my fit!) but doubtful.

Zipcar did a fleet order for about 35 '13 GE Fits in base configuration/dark grey about two weeks ago. They all sat on the back lot at Norris Ford in Baltimore for about a week, and I didn't figure it out until they started putting Zipcar emblems and new District of Columbia tags on all of them. Probably picked up the entire fleet for about $13K per unit. I'm sure fleet orders for the new model would be significantly more money, but I bet they'll negotiate fleet orders for those, too. At 13-$16K per unit, Zipcar will be paying these cars off in less than a year's time. Cheap to buy, cheap to insure, and cheap to maintain, basically a no-brainer for any rental fleet outfit of the Zipcar variety.
