Question Seen three 2015 arrivals.

Three 2015 Fits arrived at local dealership. Too much tape, etc.. When they prep, I will get a better look. However most alignment around hood, trunk, and doors looked ok. My only concern is the small most forward side windows (next to side view mirrors). The most vertical end of the window doesn't appear to be sealed properly. There was a gap between the glass and the rubber seal. Anyone else seen this?

Can any fit owners weigh in on this? I am interested in ordering one of these sight unseen.

Ok, I am re writing this post totally. I went out and looked closer and see the void you are talking about. I don't know why they do that but it is sealed back up under there, or at least mine is

Check the VIN for country of manufacture; latest AN says May sales of Fits made in Mexico was 8 cars... The total sales of Fit this year is 18,126 cars.

Where are you suggesting they were made? What is the "latest AN?"

Fit is manufactured in Thailand, china, and of course, Japan. And now Mexico.
AN, sorry, is Automotive News, who reported Fit sales of domestic (Mexico) at 8 with 13 for 5 months this year.
Production in Mexico 3,517 in May and 11,783 since the beginning of the year. Most of them are still in transit.
So I suspect most of the sales of 18,126 sales were not from the Mexican plant. It does of course mean they are all 2015 models.Your local library may have Automotive News of June 9 in their reference section.
BTW the rest of AN is just as interesting especially with the GM ignition switch problem heating up.

The numbers that you have reported are confusing. Let me set the record straight. All of the 2015 Fits in the US were manufactured in Mexico. All of the 2013 Fits in the US were manufactured in Japan. In May, Honda US reported sales of 4 Mexico made 2015 Fits to US retail buyers. All other Fits sold in the US from January thru May were Japan manufactured 2013s.

The total production of the Mexico plant of US bound fits thru the end of May is probably 11,783 as reported in AN. But the Celaya Mexico plant is also producing Fits for Mexico, South America and some other markets. I am not sure if AN is reporting any of those production numbers as well.

AN reports total production provided by the manufacturer. If one takes the domestic production of 18,126 and divides that between sales of domestic (13) and imported (18,113) It can easily be understood that most of the Mexican production went to sales other than the USA. That would mean most of US sales to date would be from other production than Mexico. As long as the country of manufacture is correct the US may be getting Fits from lines other than Mexico.. And even if a number of Fit sales were manufactured in places other than Mexico thats not a bad thing considering its a new plant compared to other plants well into productuion.

Here is the error in your reporting. The 18,126 is not domestic production of the FIt. It is the total number of Fits sold in the US during 2015. 113 of these were Fit EV leased cars. 4 were 2015 Fits manufactured in Mexico and 18,009 are 2013 Fits made in Japan. These are Sales numbers not production numbers.

As for production numbers for the Mexico plant, we have the sequential serial numbers for US Cars to use as a guide. And right now, that is about 13,200 cars that have been made, most of which have not been delivered to dealers yet.

My error to say production instead of sales. The important item is production of 11,783 versus 18,113 (total 18,126) in sales. Were the difference from leftover 14's or added inventory or where?

As of the end of May, almost all the Fits that had been produced at the Mexico Plant were sitting at Honda Distribution centers awaiting transport to dealers. Even today, the dealers have probably only been delivered a thousant or so of the 13,000+ cars that have been produced so far.

stopped at a honda dealer on the way home today. I looked at the "gap" between the glass and rubber seal on the forward most window. I also looked around the car a bit, and saw that one window had some rubber sticking out a bit from the trim and the other side window did not... kind of sloppy looking and strange. I guess they were in a hurry to produce these cars.
