Remote/Keyless Entry help for an idiot
I still can't figure this out. Would appreciate anyone's advice/help. I realize that many haven't gotten their hands on the 2015, but for those who have (or those who understand Honda's remote/keyless entry protocols):
I've messaged with one other member who says that if he slips his hand into the driver's side handle with the keyfob in his pocket, all of the Fit's doors unlock. And that if he does the same on the front passenger handle, only that door unlocks. My car seems to be doing just the opposite: my driver's side door only unlock's the driver's door. The manual details the same story:
This leads me to believe that (a) his car is better in this regard, and (b) perhaps there is a way to customize the configuration.
Can anybody drop a little knowledge? My wife is not at all happy about the passenger door not unlocking. And I'm not happy about having to pull out the keyfob to unlock her door (#first world problems).

AmyW has confirmed what my household experiences everytime the wife's Lexus RX is being driven. Driver's door handle unlocks only the driver's side, while front passenger door handle unlocks all doors and boot.

It's in the manual how to do it but not easy to remember. You can definitely change it to unlock all doors at once. That is my preferred setting. Also lock at 10 MPH and all unlock when putting the car in park.

Mine does unlock from either side of the car. I just put my hand on the handle til it beeps and open the door. I havent really changed any of the settings, so not sure if the dealer changed this for me!

Go to pages of manual 103 onward. That will tell you how to program this.

Hello,
I'm Brian, and I'm an idiot.
I owe the OP an apology. My locks work the same way. From outside, grab the driver handle, it opens but other doors do not unlock. Prior tests I had my fob still in my pocket, so the pax door unlocked because I had the fob, not because I had unlocked the driver door (the idiot part).
Unlocking driver door from outside only unlocks that door. Unlocking pax front door unlocks all doors.
I also tried the programming on p107, but it does not change this behavior. I think that may be programming for unlocking doors when exiting car; doors unlock when driver door is opened, etc.
CONFIRMED. Just programmed the doors to unlock from inside when I place transmission into Park.
This programming worked.
Cannot find programming to unlock all doors when driver door is unlocked from outside using the remote fob.

In other words, be a gentleman! Your wife will love it and you may find that there are perks to this that extend beyond the car, if you catch my drift.

The solution is simple. You escort your wife to the passenger door. Open it (which unlocks the driver's door as well). Allow her to enter and become comfortably seated, perhaps assisting with her seat belt as well. Close her door. Walk around the car and enter your door. Drive away.

George, you nailed it. Both the security issue Amy raised and the chivalry benefits did cross my mind, but I still want to have my cake and eat it too.
What about when I drive with dudes, after all?!?

Drive with dudes? Why?
And if you do, they can wait for you to push the button.
On the remote entry clickers I have, a second push of the unlock button unlocks all doors. Is there an equivalent for the smart entry system?

Brianflys, you didn't have to out yourself like that. Notice how I protected your identity!

For dudes, just open your door normally then hit the unlock switch on the door when it's opened, after just a little pause. Conveys the message that you are in control of the car.

Yes, you were supposed to get 2 remotes. It's. part of the delivery checklist you should have been given.

Look in the package that came with the car. Might be in there with the manual, etc

He used the words "sets of remotes" a set = 2 so it sounds like he expects 4 remotes.
