Paint issue red 2015 EX-L w/navi

Closed sale on red 2015 EX-L w/navi last Sat after ~6wk wait. Paint on rear right roof edge (at tail gate) rough to touch. Light scratch-like marks just to right on side panel, and small bubble a bit lower where panel flares out. Noted to dealer who sent car to paint shop. Picked late yesterday. Looks great- smooth & bubble free. Begs question of paint qual being among QC issues delaying delivery from MX?FYI: 1st FIT/Honda. Replaced 14 yr old PT Cruiser bought to carry large dogs with mobility issues (pyrenees). Our dog was able to 'walk' into back with seats up. Needed teeny assist to enter with seats flat. Awesome when your pups are 80+lbs. Agree that fabric behind rear seat & in cargo area is not best. It's sort of 'felt-like'. We waited for 2015 in big part for leather- no dog hair probs. We added all weather mats. Haven't had oppty to drive it enough yet to comment on much else. Thrilled so far in comparison to much-loved PT Cruiser. Brave new world, right? :-)

Congratulation on your new Fit!

Now you need to take some pictures, preferably with the dogs in the car.

Ouch, sorry to hear that you had to re-paint a portion of a brand new car. Wondering if you thought to photograph the issue prior to sending to the paint shop? Also makes me wonder if any new cars are being sold after already visiting a paint booth somewhere between here and MX. This does seem to hint at the rumor that's been flying around about possible paint issues being the reason for the delay (or "pre-call" as some have stated) from April release to mid June, but who knows.

What rumors? This is the first I've read/heard about this issue. Any posts/links to the paint related issue?

Update: Did a quick search and this thread popped up --> Paint Thanks for the heads-up! Now things are coming together.

Disappointed to hear of paint issues on a brand new Honda. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted as to your satisfaction of the repair and car in general. I will be sure to check for this on future test drives and before buying.

I'd be hesitant to accept a car with damaged paint even if it is repaired locally. It's very difficult to duplicate the factory finish durably, particularly with the complex paints on modern cars.

Great Reminder

Great reminder to CHECK OUT THE CAR before accepting it. I'll be making sure to go over the interior and exterior with a fine toothed comb once mine comes in.

I'll be sure to take this with me when I check the Fit out before buying.
