What did you drive before your Fit?
I had to get rid of it and I really didn't want to. It gave me 3K towards my Fit actually.
First I got into an accident that ripped the whole front bumper off. 3K in damage right there out of pocket.
Then as if it couldn't get worse, the transmission started going. Another $1800 to get a new transmission put in. After that it just wasn't the same car, very sad.
I ended up dumping in close to 10 grand in repairs and maintenance. Everytime I turned around it had another issue. I think the girl before me really beat the piss out of it and I got the shitty end of the stick.

2012 Honda Fit
2010 Base Mini Cooper
1990 Mustang Convertible
But all the while I drive my little modded 1990 Mush-stang. Its just not exactly a comfort cruiser and gets about 10mpg
plus the tire size is totally inadequate for the amount of HP being made.

A 1971 Hornet Sportabout, which I sold in 1977.
That's owned; otherwise many, many rentals. Fords were the best the last ten years. Will never, ever touch a Chrysler corporation vehicle after my most recent rental.

Wow, going from a Corvette to a Fit. That's about the most extreme transition I can imagine! But you will love the gas savings!
What an awesome first car for your niece, Rottboy! I would have been over the moon, too. My first car, as I mentioned above, was a '78 Accord hatch, in silver with maroon interior. Oh, how I loved that little car, and the Fit brings me back to it in so many ways.
Yep. The Solstices were hit and miss on quality in the first place. Now, they regularly need new water pumps at 30,000 miles...an $800 fix. (and each 30,000 after that) Endless other issues from broken trunk openers to broken door handles to broken airbag sensors. Not to mention the endless other recalls from GM. No more GM anything
2007 Mercedes SL550 V8 with 380 HP and 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and fuel usage to match, with premium fuel required to feed that turbo. It was fun to drive and a beautiful thing to mash the accelerator and watch all the cars behind me disappear. But in the end it just never really felt like me.
Two days with the Fit and I couldn't be happier.
