Do you realize that roughly 20% of your posts are spent insulting people. Do you have any idea how to carry on a conversation without resorting to name calling and insults? If not, you may want to find another forum.

This forum tends to try to work together to help each other with our common interests. In all my time here, I've never seen any name calling, or senseless spewing of derogatory comments. Yet, that seems the only way you can "effectively" communicate.

Please stop or find another forum.

Thank you.

Mark

HondaPro Jason on Youtube explained it in one of his videos. It may have been on the 2014 Honda Civic Tips & Tricks. I tried to see if I could disable it on my inlaw's 2015 Fit but I could not find where it was in the settings. If I find the video I'll post a link.

Nope, nothing there but a lot of fawning over Hondalink.

GeorgeL, I watched that video as well and it was not there. It was in one of his videos. I reached out to him on Facebook. Hopefully he will answer soon.

Eco Coaching Disable is apparently not an available feature on the Fit.

Was this the final verdict in this question?

Going back to the first post in this thread, the owner's manual and the technology manual contradict each other on whether this setting can be disabled. That means Honda has made some sort of mistake in regards to implementing this feature.

I just got my EX, and the Technology Reference Guide says "this feature can be turned off in the Customize Settings Menu (see owners manual for more info)."

Despite what that says, I've been through the manual twice, and sat in the car and went through all the settings screens, and don't see any references to the Ambient Meter or a way to turn it off.

EDIT - I see simonx314 beat me to it.

In the very first post of this thread, I link to both PDF's of the contradicting manuals. You can use ctrl-F to search the technology PDF for the setting mentioned in the owners manual and you will find exactly zero results.

Just to clarify, the base lx model with the smaller screen doesnot have any option in the menu as well. I guess the only way is to replace the green led to blue, so it changes from blue to blue problem solved!

Especially annoying in the manual transmission. It is always blue unless no gas is applied (coasting) or in 6th gear. It isn't smart. When starting in 1st it sometimes flashes from green to blue... very distracting. Is there a guide to remove this led?

It reminds me of the old fuel economy gauges from the fifties and sixties that were just vacuum gauges labeled "Good" at 20 inches or so and "Poor" near 0. At least it knows if you're sitting at idle you aren't getting "Good" mileage.

I bet an engineer at Honda is laughing at us as we go in circles trying to turn this off. :-p I wouldn't be surprised if different people wrote the two manuals and had different information provided to them to write them.

Finally, I have found someone else in the community who notices this annoying glitch. I really hope that there is some type of easy fix going forward. Love the car but this bugs the crap out of me.

Just drive it flat out, all the time....it'll always be blue to match the rest of the dash. I agree it's stupid, and was distracting, at least at first.....as stupid as the lil instantaneous mpg meter...am quite sure the vast majority of drivers know how to drive efficiently or not, having lights and digital meters to harangue you is pretty cheesy, imo. I just ignore it all and drive by feel...we have a tach, we have a speedometer, some of us have manual transmissions....we don't need no steenking green/blue nannies.....dammit
