Debadgers beware....

I debadged my day old Fit today. Let me preface this with I've debadged probably 15 cars in my life. NEVER had a problem. Always done it the same way, this time chipped the paint taking it off. I have chips in my three day old paint....if you are going to, the paint must be REALLY thin, be warned...

Noooo!! Well, at least you got the first chip out of the way early. Still sucks, so sorry and boy, do I know how you feel. Did you buy some touch up paint?

Your referring to the "FIT" badge correct not the front and rear "H"

I told my Daughter the same thing, first ding out of the way. Paint not ordered- yet. Yes, the Fit badge. The H usually has posts behind it.

What's the point of removing the badge? Not being snarky, just can't fathom it.

Don't want people to know he is driving a crappy Honda.

I debadged my GE, too and had no problems. I don't know, I just always have. Subarus, Audis, Toyotas, Ford, VWs, Jeeps, done them all.

i debadged mine as well. luckily i didnt chip any paint. used a blowdryer, fish line, then compounded and waxed after. most of the adhesive stuck to the trunk so it took a while to heat up and remove.

also noticed a really shitty paint job from the factory. lots of paint drip and shitty overlap on the trunk area. will eventually try to do a paint correction if i have time one day. luckily its not as noticable on white. also, the clearcoat swirls VERY easily. the prep job the dealer did left so much swirling. im going to need a solid day to correct and seal the paint

Tofu- I noticed that too, and wasn't sure if I did something. Good to know.

Can someone post pictures of how a debadged Fit looks?

I've always wanted to debadge my cars, it seems like it would make it more "your" car rather than a member of the Honda fleet, not that I mind Honda.
