I've been spending a lot of time on the front floor of my Fit doing wiring, and I realized that the "carpet" is the same kind of stuff you'd see in the trunk of a cheap car in the 1960s. I guess they were trying to keep the price (and weight) as low as possible.

 

Gotta cut costs somehow...

 

Better there than on something important.
