Re: 2015 Fit/2014 Civic 7” DA System Intermittent Functional Anomalies

Print this iN message and give a copy to the Shop Foreman, all Service Advisors, all Technicians, and appropriate personnel.

Overview:
Models equipped with the 7” DA and DA+ systems may intermittently encounter certain functional anomalies with the rear view camera (may display LaneWatch), LaneWatch (may display rear view camera), or the Audio unit. The anomaly will be obvious to the viewer when the rear view camera displays LaneWatch image or when LaneWatch system displays the rear view camera image. The viewer will be able to rely on their mirrors and their own visual assessment when backing up or changing lanes.

Models effected:
2015 Fit EX, EXL and EXLN which have DA 7" screen
2014 Civic 2 door EX, EXL, EXLN, Si and Si Navi which have DA 7" screen
2014 Civic 4 door EX, EXL, EXLN. Si, Si Navi, Hybrid and Hybrid Navi which have DA 7" screen

Problem:
When vehicle is in Reverse, LaneWatch camera image is displayed instead of rear view camera image. – Intermittently
When the LaneWatch system is activated, the rear view camera image is
displayed. – Intermittently
LaneWatch is blank. - Intermittently
LaneWatch displays rear camera lines only. – Intermittently
AM/FM audio plays when radio is turned off. - Intermittently

It does not include:
Red screen that indicates Aiming is Incomplete. (Perform the Lane Watch Camera aiming procedure).
When the LaneWatch button is pushed, the screen does not change. (Troubleshoot as necessary).
Note: See the owner’s manual for further details on Lane Watch operation and settings.

Action Required:
Order a reman DA system appropriate for the model.

Note:Please be advised that this is a short term solution, as we work to publish a long term repair.

Thank you.

So the (sort-of) good news here is this is not a Fit specific quality issue. It's a Mitsubishi electronics or general Honda issue (I think I saw Mitsubishi makes the DA unit).

Actually I believe the DA system is made by Panasonic. I could be wrong though...

Edit: now that I think about it, it might be Mitsubishi. So really I have no idea. Ignore me lol.

Haha. I was just going by the parts diagrams. But they're not always right either.
