I hate the left footrest

Hi guys,

Aussie here. Bought a new Honda Jazz VTi-S less than a month ago and am starting to regret my decision.

All the features are fine, except for the terrible left footrest which feels way too close. No matter how I adjust the height or angle of the seat my left foot feels awkward and uncomfortable. I'm only 177cm too. There's also no space between the footrest and the brake pedal for you to stretch your leg out.

When I test drove the car it already felt a bit awkward but I liked everything else about it, the looks, the features, etc. and thought the footrest issue was a minor niggle I would get over. Sadly it hasn't been the case.

Every time I finish a drive I think to myself I should sell it.

Why don't you just remove it?

Not sure that I can. The footrest seems to be fused into the carpeted floor.

Mine fits me perfectly. Thin and 5' 8". One of my favorite things about it. If I used the armrest, I could see how that would be an issue, but I don't.

How do you like the new pedals? I am looking at the same set and had some concerns about them being slippery.

Those pedals are real nice! How can I find them on ebay and were they hard to install?

Update: I found them right away - from China, right? I'm not much of a DIY guy; hard difficult/easy are these? They look terrific and so inexpensive.

There's like no reception here in the outlets. Yea I thought the guy was from the states but the item shipped from China. They are exact Fit. Feel great. My shoes don't slip off the brake pads or gas. With the stock ones my foot would begin to slip off the brake if I've been at the stop light too long.

Install was under 20 minutes. You can use the included 4 self threading screws for the foot rest. I recommend using two self threading screws from home depot for the gas since our gas pedal is plastic. The brake pedal needs to be drilled since its metal. Just use the included screw and bolt for the brake pedal.

I did it really quickly and didn't care for perfect alignment, but they are practically shaped the same dimensions as the existing pedals.

1) remove surrounding trim
2) pull up carpet
3) remove what is most likely a foam block under carpet for footrest
4) use heat to get carpet to mold to new footrestless shape
5) reinstall trim
6) ?????
7 profit!!!

With left hand drive, it's not a problem, and it saves wear on the carpet.

I felt similarly when I first got the vehicle. I came from a truck with an upright setting position. I have since gotten used to the seating in the fit, and make small tweaks to the seat position every now and then. It keeps getting more comfortable to me. I sit with my knees splayed outward for more comfort. I am 6' 1" with long legs. Good luck!

I found the dead pedal on the 15 RHD manual is too low to be comfortable on a long drive. I am planning to fab up something that sits above the existing one and screws onto the console at the screw you can see in the picture.
