Depending on the tick like the others said the direct injection is always a little loud at first, When you've never had a car that had DI it always takes a little to get used to. I remember is 2008 our Mazdaspeed 3 freaked me out with all the noises.

Not the ticking, I realize that may be normal. But in regarding the slight tap movement when the car is stopped at a light that PF9938 described . It feels like it moves an inch or so. Anyone else getting this?

You state that the noise went away after this at 800 miles, is it still quiet and if so what did you ask your dealer to do for you, ie what legitimate valve maintenance was there to do because my dealer told me this was a normal sound and there was nothing I could do about it.
