Low profile usb flash drive

I just got my 32gb Low profile flash drive for my fit. This thing is small enough for you to close the flap and leave it there. I used the usb port in the armrest of my EX-L. I loaded it with 30 files full of albums and it worked very well and easy to use. If I want to change folder I just old the back or fourth button. If anyone is or need one amazon is selling them now for $12.99 I hope you jump on it because that's a steal.

Hey.

This SanDisk Cruzer Fit USB drive is incredibly small.

Do you guys keep the USD flip-up lid closed when you use it?

Thanks.

Am also using same ... and yes you can close the lid, that's what's so cool about it!
Can't believe they can fit 32GB on something so small!

I can remember when that much music would take a whole room full of wall space to hold all the albums.

128GB? How many CD album rips will that hold and can the radio even recognize that many?

I have the 16GB version of the drive with 80 albums on it and it's half full.

I have a lot of music. When I had my iPod in my car it was 160GB, mostly full, so 128GB doesn't seem big to me. One big aspect of how much music it will hold is the bit rate of the music file. But yes, I would much rather have a lot of music to choose from.

Realizing that there is a practical limit to the number of folders the radio can recognize, I split my files into 2 16GB thumb drives. I have folders by artist/album, so I guess I use more folders than some. I probably have about 1500 albums between the two drives (2 USB ports in the EX!!).

Totally buying this

I've been in cringe mode, trying to remember not to jam something into the very accessible area where my "small" drive projects. This is a welcome improvement.

For those who are interested, spend an extra buck or two and get USB 3.0 instead. You won' t regret it during the write to USB.

I know it can read both, but is our car stereo's USB port 2.0 or 3.0?

If it was USB 3.0 and was in conformance with the standards, the plastic in the port would be blue in color. It isn't.

No reason for Honda to spend extra pennies making the car support USB 3. No use for extra bandwidth. USB 2 is way more than fast enough for all the uses they put the port to.

Oh, and another recommended low profile USB flash drive.
Lexar JumpDrive S45 xxxGB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Lexar JumpDrive S45 xxxGB USB 3.0 Flash Drive
. New model, so still a tad on the expensive side compared to the Sandisk. I have used Lexar drives for years with excellent compatibility and no failures. (I have also used many Sandisk flash drives. But I do not have long term experience with them in the automotive environment. So I continue using Lexar for that purpose.)

Hello Uncle Gary. Is the practical limit to the number of folders the radio can recognize addressed in the owner's manual, or is there a basic technological bit of wisdom we might share? I'm leaning toward a 64 gb drive to avoid having to keep up with multiple drives.
