Radar detector being tripped by NZ Jazz
Radar detector being tripped by NZ Jazz
Hi,
my new 3rd gen, NZ spec 2014 Jazz (JDM Fit in reality), is constantly tripping the radar detector on the ka band. Swapped out the radar for my wifes one and it does it on her one too! Both Beltronics. Never had this problem in my 02 Fit.
Has anyone else seen this? I cant think of anything that could be tripping it. It has city brake, CTBA, but that is a laser anyway from what I know, and turning it off makes no difference. There are no rear park sensors.
Help, - cant imagine driving without a detector

Thanks,
yes I worked out yesterday it must be radar. The dealer told me it was laser.
however the Honda NZ website says this: "The system uses a laser radar unit", but it could
easily be wrong.
Did a few tests, and found out some useful info.
I removed the detector from the windscreen/windshield, and put it in the cupholder, and the problem stopped. So it is probably the CTBA sender.
However, if you turn off CTBA with the switch, it still sends the radar signal,
but just ignores it! ditto if you are outside the activation window (5-30 kph).
So, it send the radar signal 100% of the time!
will do some more testing.
Cheers,
vtec
