2015 EX-L Cup Holder Removal?

I have the EX-L and want to remove the two cup holders in front of the shifter. How do they come out? Has anyone done this on the 2015? If so, any advice would be appreciated!

SilverEX has a couple pictures. Anyway you need to remove a screw where the HDMI, 12v, usb inputs are. Then pull that out. Once you have pulled that out and removed the usb, hdmi, and 12v plugs, you will see another screw that holds the cup holders in. Unscrew that then pull the cup holder up and out.

Oooooh.. does that mean I could put in the better cup holders from a Civic? The ones with the "tension" thingies? (What?! It's a technical term.)

I don't know how the civic cup holders look. But the tray behind the cup holders to store stuff is one with the cup holders. They are together as one unit. Also, there are no sides to the cupholder, so enough liquid would go down the sides, but it seems Honda put some form of absorbent (three of them) under the cup holder area to "dry" that area of moisture.

Hope this works...

Here is a picture of them:

Those are spring loaded, so you can put different sized cups or bottles in there, and they won't wiggle.

Thanks for the info! I looked at it today and realized that it indeed is not part of the gear shift trim. I was thinking that it was all one piece. Thanks again!

Those civic ones definitely won't fit. Sorry to disappoint ya.
