Stopping the Car and Listening to the Radio

A couple of weeks ago, someone was asking how to shut off the engine and keep listening to the radio. I don't know if he got an answer, but if you shut off the engine in D, the radio will keep playing till you put the car into P.

the person that posted that question has a 6mt, manual transmission, thus has no "D".

all one needs to do is hit the start button twice while without your foot on the clutch and it will go into accessory mode. Akin to twisting a key (standard ignition) to the number 2 position but not actually twisting far enough to crank the engine.

nope, doesn't work. just did it 2x to double check. you have to shut the car off, then turn it back on to acc mode.

Correct. Did not Understand what you're asking I thought you meant how do you engage accessory mode but now I realize you're asking if you're able to shut the car down after driving, while remaining in accesory mode. I dont think thats possible.

I find it interesting how when putting the shifter to N, pulling the E brake up, and then hitting the Start/Stop, the radio will stay on but the screen in the dash will say to Put Shift to P. The car knows!

I wonder if hitting the Stop button while the car is in gear would do the same thing.

I can get the radio to turn on by pressing the Start button once. If I press it again, the instruments lot up.

We have a different brand car with the same issue. I can't figure out how to turn the engine off without losing the radio, and then having to turn the radio back on. First world problem, but this is a regression from keyed vehicles ...
