Will RS be coming to U.S.?

Forgive me if this has been covered, but my search was fruitless. The Jdm pics from overseas showing modded GK's are killing me. There's no aftermarket support here other than a few guys like Tein, but geez, I have no patience. Anyway, I am praying that Mugen aero kit will be available as well as the RS trim. Anybody have inside info?

My guess is if it did, it would be renamed SI.

Not much point at the present since they are selling every Fit they make.

In the NA market the Fit is a entry-level car. If you've got the scratch for a sporty model they want you starting with a more expensive platform.

I just talked to a Honda rep at Laguna Seca during the SCCA championships. They had a spec Civic, Crx and Fit sport. He said next year they will start developing and racing the GK.

our EX's are pretty much RS... what else is it really missing? the rims, the engine, all are RS, maybe suspension differences, but not a big difference I think.

Just minor body and interior chsnges. Different springs and dampners.

I've got a brand new EX on the way, which I'm excited for , but I'm going to be mad if they release some sort of Sport model next year. To me, it would be kind of like a middle finger to everyone who bought a GK Fit right when it came out rather than waiting a year...

And rear disc brakes. All the North American Fits (regardless trim levels) have rear drum brakes.

not sure if you would class it as an RS thing or just lack of options in the US but the base level fit here are the same as the US.

the RS has touch screen aircon
LED headlights
rear disks
different shocks/spring rates
sunset orange color option (tribute to the original civic RS from the 70s)
sports pedals
paddle shift for the CVT (lower spec models didnt get that here)
then badges, grill and some aero/spoiler as mentioned.

Honestly speaking as far as real performance goes I think the US models would be near identical.

Wish they bumped the RS about 20-30hp up. would have been a little more fun to drive.

Rear discs are overrated on cars like the Fit. The rear wheels do so little braking that even those tiny drums don't overheat or wear excessively.

When I had to replace my front brakes in my 2010 at about 75 or 80,000 miles, the guy looked at my rear drum and told me they looked almost brand new. He told me there was no wear on them at all. FWIW, I took to to Midas, where they try to up-sell you on EVERYTHING, and he didn't even bother.

Yeah it really wouldn't make much difference. Though I'll probably still end up converting to discs later on down the road simply because I hate the look of drums.
