Looks like you got a better price through etrailer than I did. Just following the link above, and specifying make and model....I was getting $135 for just the receiver. Bought mine through Amazon for $120 shipped including the hitch.

Can anyone with a Curt, Draw-Tite, or Hidden Hitch measure the distance from the bottom of the hitch receiving tube to the ground? I'm just curious about how much clearance there is.

Thanks!
Matt

Just thought I'd add my experience here.

I bought a Curt 11406 over Amazon, about $108.
At first I thought I'd need to take it to a shop to install it because the two rubber muffler hangers seemed tight, and I didn't have the special tool or any other decent tools to remove them. Also I wasn't sure if I would need to put it on a lift. Well, if you really soak the rubber hangers with silicone spray, they get very loose, almost easy, to remove (and you don't have to entirely remove them, just the ends attached to the muffler). And there was plenty of room to work, once the muffler was lowered, so no lift was necessary. I would strongly suggest you have a helper, though, since it is a royal PITA to do it yourself (like I did). I saved $50-$120 labor by doing it myself. Just follow the instructions. No drilling at all. Once I figured out the rubber pieces, it took about an hour to do the install. It would have been much quicker with a helper. Also, my torque wrench was too big to be useful in the limited confines under the car, so I estimated the ft-lbs using, uh, my unquestionable judgement.

I am about to order the exact same thing Shimself2.
Anyone have suggestions or advice for the best bike rack for 2 bikes on this hitch? One is a road bike, the other is a beach bike.
Thanks!!

There are so many decent bike racks out there. I was able to buy a very slightly used Yakima Double Down 4 DoubleDown 4 | Yakima from an acquaintance for $125. It works fine, but you do have to lift the bike fairly high to get it onto the rack, and my main bike is old and heavy. The rubber straps are strong, but a PITA to use. If he hadn't been selling his, I'm not sure what I would have bought. I definitely wanted the arms to fold down, since I all too frequently ran my chest into the rack that was on my old minivan. And I definitely wanted it to be able to fold back to allow the hatch to open. If price isn't a consideration, I'd look into the Thules. Also, this one looks cool and you don't have to lift the bike quite as high: Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches Swagman Hitch Bike Racks S64670

Another consideration is if you live in a high-theft area. Check to see how you can lock a bike to the rack. The Yakima offers an optional lock, but it gets lousy reviews. (I think it's included on premium models.)

Thanks! I had a Yakima rack that went on the trunk of my old car and I agree, the straps are a huge PITA. I will check out the Swagman.
