Question about my new Fit

What is the circle cover for on the front bumper? About 2 inches wide. Couldn't find anything about it anywhere.

Pretty sure if you open the rear cover to the spare you will find a tow point that goes in the hole you are questioning.

I hope I didn't dream this...

Covers the mounting point for your tow hook. As stated above the hook itself is in the hatch area with your tools for jacking the car ...

Thanks, I learn something every day reading these forums. Good to have a support group for this car.

You can add after market tow hooks as well.

I don't think that I want to advertise my adolescence in that way.

Honda made the tow hook removable for a reason. Leave one in place and any minor bump that otherwise would be absorbed by the bumper will be transmitted directly to the chassis where it will cause damage.

I am 72 and in my third childhood so will leave them on.

and besides I just suggested to the OP what he could do. Up to him. If you don't want them then why even post?

Took me a few minutes to realize this honky metal screw hook next to the screw jack is for the hole in front of the car to hook up while being towed.

I thought it was kinda odd at first to see this hole in front of the bumper. Soon as I saw that hook I knew what it's for.

Not sure why couldn't they just weld a hook underneath the car but I guess because of the shrouds it's only way to do it.

I don't understand how you can tow the car from one side of the car. That seems really strange to me.

That said, I'm used to cars being towed from their back end raised and riding on their front wheels.

I imagine these are used say when you have the Fit buried in a snowbank or ditch etc. Not to use when then taking it to the garage.

OR

For some old Fart to put bright Red Hooks on.
