new here, 2 time fit owner couple questions
Hey guys
As the title says I'm new here... I leased an 08 sport and '12 sport. So for sure I'm a fan... the amount of crap I have loaded into my fits is ridiculous. now I'm in a position where I can just buy a new one rather then lease. Read some of the reviews, saw just the basic ones at the lot... will have to take one for a drive have to see the sport. But I don't get it... I know somethings are refined, but what happened to make it bigger more wagon size and adding AWD. This is what I really hoped for as I'm an element lover at heart and for me this is a good replacement but I wanted more from the new Fit
I'm not trying to bash it(it might sound that way but its not my intent) cause I really don't know too much about the new one but I'm hoping to find out from guys that have the older one and the new one if the new one is really that much of an upgrade
COMMENT: Being new, do some legwork and scroll the previous threads on the questions you have. Lotsa good FF debates from GD, GE and GK owners plus a couple of threads on the incoming HRV (AWD) based on the Fit platform. BTW, welcome to the forum. Ehhh!!!! - rttby

I've never owned a Fit prior to the new one, but I've driven the GD (1st gen) Fit Sport. The new 2015 Fit is more powerful because of the new engine DI DOHC "earth dreams". It feels even 'quicker' than regular non-Si Civic. The downside though, is the steering feel, the new EPS doesn't feel as connected & weighted as the old Fit. Other downside is the suspension tuning, which is a little bit softer than older Fits. So the new one feels less 'sporty'.
But the chassis is very good & stable, to me I found that it doesn't get understeer as much as the older GD Fit (& even the Civic which I also own) during cornering. Maybe because the weight distribution is more balanced now + improved suspension geometry.

how much more is the HR-V weigh anyone know?
if they only bring the 1.5 engine, that think will probably feel a little underpowered
read about the 1.8... hopefully that comes as well
all in all looks like an interesting vehicle and if priced right may be a good option for us people who love the fit but maybe just need a bit more
