Here is an email link I received from Honda today, that goes into great detail about the upcoming Honda HRV. It does have several similarities with the 2015 Honda Fit, but what I notice right away is the 4-wheel disk brakes, AWD, and raised body (4 inches over the fit). I see it as a Fit on steroids!

First look at the HR-V Crossover

Thanks for that, Vanguard. I like the page that says One HR-V Fits All. I'm sure that was intentional.

More info here:

2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: 2016 Honda HR-V (FAQ) | Edmunds.com

Looks like it got the 1.8 SOHC Civic engine, but derated so that it only makes 8 HP and 13 ft-lbs more than the Fit. No direct injection? Mileage is going to take a fairly big hit if that's the case. No Diesel option as in Europe, darnit.

3 inch longer wheelbase,
9 inches longer overall,
3 inches taller (but more ground clearance too, so little increase in headroom),
3 inches wider,
6 ft^3 more cargo volume seats up or down,
5 ft^3 more passenger volume.

It's a Fit that sits higher, has a bit more elbow room, and a bit more junk in the trunk.

Stepping up to the EX trim adds Honda's Lane Watch blind-spot camera and the 7-inch touchscreen interface that we found frustrating to use in the Fit and Civic. Other features on the upper trims include keyless ignition and entry, a sunroof, heated front seats, leather upholstery, satellite and HD radios and a fully integrated navigation system. As in the Civic, there will likely be a much cheaper navigation app available for smartphones that integrates rather imperfectly with the 7-inch touchscreen
Well, there's still hope for Android getting the same crappy $60 HondaLink Nav app as iOS.

The new HR-V is not too shabby. It does look alot like the 2015 Fit but I don't think it'll get the same MPG as the Fit. Looking at the specs I am going to say probably 35 MPG on the highway due to heavier car, AWD and it's not direct injection engine.

HR-V gives folks a choice between the CR-V and Fit.

Pricing will be interesting as well.

Looks like a Fit? I don't know what people are seeing, but over here in Japan, the Vezel (HR-V there) looks 100x better, to my eyes, than the new Fit in exterior appearance. I still can not get over the cheap door look of the new Fit, they went Toyboat cheap looking with the new doors. I'm also not a fan of the character line/crease that runs along the sides. The GE is still the best looker for myself, but I really do like the look of the Vezel and only wished it was offered with a MT/hybrid setup like the CR-Z.

This thread is 1) already in the "other vehicles" section and 2) not related to the GK
