2016 HR-V AWD Transfer Case

+1!! No need for this fancy computer stuff! Give me a manual transfer case shifter to put it in 4WD or 2WD. Contrary to most people in the States, I know how to drive a car, and operate one! :-P

Well now that you put it that way it sounds like a piece of cake!

well for those that don't know, Im going to say the "Honda AWD" runs either a viscious coupler or an electronic coupler that transfers power to the rear when slip is detected in the front via abs sensor.
We don't get the same awd as Subaru or Mitsubishi.
b&c performance is running a Honda element transmission with a custom straight shaft for their drag car.

Good point. Its part time vs full time 4x4 which is one difference. AWD vs true 4x4, I'd choose mechanical manual 4x4 selection. Full time is the way to go. AWD to me is more trouble than its worth with all the extra tech required to manage it.

Most notoriously, there was a recent test showing how Honda 4WD doesnt even work properly:
I'd suggest skipping this as a mod.

^Correct. Honda "4wd" isn't fulltime and is electronically controlled when it senses slip.

^^^^THIS was a VERY convincing video. Thanks for the post! I still own two Subarus. I better stick with them for AWD.

Propeller Shaft
So is this the piece I am looking for? I linked it up with the word 'Propeller Shaft' above. It's from the 2016 LX HR-V AWD (HondaPartsNetwork)

That is part of the equation.
curious if you could save money by just ordering the transfer case, transmission housing(instead of the full hrv transmission), propeller shaft, and rear axle assembly?
Here is the more important part you want to look at.
AT TRANSFER for 2016 Honda HR-V
Here is more interesting parts, it seems the rear differential is activated based on oil pressure much like a viscious coupler, but this is controlled via an oil pump #22 rather then fiction heating the oil up.
