Tire Labels for Storage

When I take the tires off in the winter to put on the snow tires, I like to know where they'll be going in the spring. I print labels like these for the cars, double-sided and laminated. I punch a hole in the end and tie a string to each label. When I take off the right front tire, I put the "Right Rear" label on it, tied to the wheel. So when I put them back on, they get rotated.

I print front and back on card stock, so the same wording is on each side of the label. I haven't printed the labels for the Fits yet.

I admit that it's overkill, but it's something to do. Did you notice the colors - port and starboard?

I use chalk on the inner sidewall sure it could get erased but it doesn't. Actually repainted my winter rims and didn't need to go over the chalk markings.

Actually labelling right and left isn't necessary for me since my tires are directional.

Port and starboard. Port is left - red lights, and starboard is right - green lights.

Making where the tires go for the next driving season is a good idea. I use a silver sharpie & wright the location on the tire tread.

We never get enough snow in Nashville, to need snow tires. I am however familiar with the nautical color coding for port and starboard (4 years in the Navy). Now all you need are signal flags to fly from your antenna, indicating which set of tires you are currently using, all season or snow, so that the rest of the world is aware of your current status.

p.s. Don't forget to post a pic of your small generator shed.
