Ordered one in July and it hasen't come in,My dealer called last Thursday and said he could make a trade for a yellow EXL without naiv,so we took it.Love the car so far,glade we waited for yellow.Ordered black bodyside molding and installed a rear bumper cover.

5 months of waiting? You sure have patience. I would have asked my deposit back if I were you.

 

why aren't the moldings located on the higher indentations where the car is more likely to be scratched?

 

The "folds" you see on the doors, are the outer most point of the body. Add to this the thickness of the side body moldings, and you get the protection you need.

I tested ours by pulling my '07 Odyssey and Mazda CX-5, up alongside my Daughters Fit, and they do protect the side of the Fit.
