Found this report stating total Fit sales reached 59,340 units in 2014.

Honda sales top 1.3 million in 2014

I liked seeing these bits:

> The award-winning Accord and the all-new Fit led the brand on the car side,

• The new Fit continued its hot streak, with 6,450 vehicles sold in December for an increase of 39.7 percent as total Fit sales reached 59,340 units in 2014, an increase of 10.9 percent.

Driving to work yesterday I saw six fits on the road, and two in the grocery store parking lot on the way home.... I guess the fit is doing well!

There are 57 houses in our subdivision. We're the third with a Fit. And yes, all three are silver.

I don't know the other owners, so they weren't an influence in my purchase decision. Mine is a 2015. The other two are older models.

To date, I have seen two 2015 Fits, one in a parking lot which influenced my decision on buying a new car, and the other was driving opposite way on a highway. I live in Charlotte, and have had my car since early November. I have also taken my car on a road trip to NJ for 10 days.

Now how to these numbers show up?

I thought Honda Fit sales for USA was zero in 2014. I considered buying a FIT in fall of 2013. I bought a different vehicle as a 2014 model and passed over the FIT.

Girlfriend and I are currently considering a new '15 FIT. I mentioned even in dealership that I almost bought a 2014 FIT. Salesman even corrected me. Honda didn't make 2014 FIT. Honda went from 2013 to 2015. Honda a one year hiatus while they reinvented the FIT.

So I'm saying zero sales. Am I wrong? Is salesman wrong? I've seen FITs for sale. Was they left over '13 models or early '15 models?

Read the article. Fits sales for 2014. Not 2014 Fit sales.

There was a 2014 FIT EV sold but not in the US.

I follow what your saying. So what did people buy? If 54,000 FITs were sold during the fiscal year of 2014, what did people buy?

Left over 2013 model? Or early '15 model. When did new generation FIT come to market?

Even in KBB, they don't show a 2014 FIT.

Honda produced alot of 2013 Fits knowing there wasn't going to be a 2014 model. They flooded lots with them. I just hope unsuspecting or unwitting buyers weren't suckered into buying a 2014 FIT when really was a 2013.

As for which model year did people buy? It is not clear on that, but likely a mixture of 2013 and 2015. They only said new Fits sold.

As for when it first hit the US. Technically in June 2014, but someone (in San Diego) got lucky and one was slipped through and he got it in May 2014.

I don't think any Honda dealer ever advertised that there is a Honda 2014 Fit in the US for sale.

Honda, as well as most all, if not all, auto makers, start selling their next year models during the prior year. I purchased my 2015 Honda Fit in November 2014.

I made two long trips over the holiday break (10 hours and 13 hours one-way each trip), and saw only one other Fit… I've seen a couple in town, though.

I never saw anyone pretending 2014 Fits existed. My 2013 Fit left the lot in February 2014 and counted towards that sales total.

a funny thing about that, actually - i bought my 2013 new in may of last year (2014) and i guess the dealership sent the vehicle's information to the bank as a 2014. a month later the dealership called me to tell me that i needed to come back and sign papers again for a loan change, so i went up there expecting to fight with them over a price increase but the bank had made them take an additional $2500 off the price of the car for being a 2013 rather than a 2014. needless to say, i ended up getting a quite nice deal on the fit in the end

i guess i should add in, though - there was never any talk between me and the salesman or anything that it was a 2014. i was fully aware that it was a 2013. i have no idea why they sent it as a 2014, but i can't complain about their mistake!
