2013 vs 2014

2013 vs 2014
Is there a reason why I never notice anybody talking about a 2014LX. I always either read about getting a 2013 or getting a 2015 but nobody mentions the 2014s. I am buying a 2014 tomorrow , I was gonna get a 2015 but I don't want to wait three months. Is there a reason why I shouldn't buy a 2014?

Are there really? Fits aren't that popular here I live in a small town and I have only ever seen two in town and when I go to the city I don't see many either. But I had a hard time getting the 2014 LX in the colour I wanted they had to get it from another dealership. So the 2014s are the same as the 2013s? I don't want to end up buying a lemon lol.

That's not what I said. I just think it's strange that the 2014s aren't sold in the states and other places and maybe they are sold here and are lemons and that's why they are only sold in Canada. They could be sold elsewhere I don't know.

Not really practical to import them just to have the new model roll out right behind.

There is no reason not to get the 2014 if urgency is paramount.
Do yourself a favor and shop it around with the various Honda Dealers. They are all out to make a "deal" so you should come out pretty good. Check posts from your fellow Canadians who mostly got flaming deals on 2014's.
Do us a favor and post pics. Look at your front door post and your CVSS sticker should say where its made. Read somewhere its made in China.

Correct. These Fits are made in China. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. The Chinese Fits are more prone to rusting as has been noted in Canada and in Europe were they are also sold.
I'd wait and get the Mexican eyesore 2015 Fit. It's ugly as hell but maybe you can mod it to make it look better.
Reasons to wait:
- 2014 is made in China and will rust around the crash bars and upper door frames in 12 months. Search fitfreak for long threads on the rusty Chinese fits.
- 2014 has very average (if not slightly below) MPG in its class. Better than the GD but still not as good as the 2015 GK
-since the 2015 is made in made in Mexico, it could be even cheaper than a 2014 (because of NAFTA and less import fees)
-the engine is more powerful. At 130hp, you're gettin' into Corolla territory!
-the new engine is DOHC (dual overhead cams). DOHC is usually considered an advantage over single overhead cam but is more costly to produce so we didn't get one until now
-you live in Canada... And you can get heated seats! A nice plus
-you get a rear view camera standard
-if you are buying the car and want to resell down the road, it will have less value. Even if they were built around the same time, in 2018 your 2014 will be four years old compared to the 2015 being only 3 years old. It makes a difference with buyers and the projected value of the car.

I'm not in that much of a hurry I'm selling my car next weeks me could wait until July or August to get the 2015 I just want the car now lol. Plus I am getting 3500 off the 2014 so it's only 120$ bi weekly. Now I don't know if I should get it

Its a no brainer in terms of financial outlay. $240/mo., whereas on a 2015 you may get a max of $500, if at all, for the first couple of months. Based on what your dealer quoted, you'll be paying a minimum of $100/mo. more on a 2015.
Get the 2014 now, when the lease is over, return it. By that time, your dealers will be "dealing" on the GK's.

LOL, Financing my 2014 Honda Fit Sport for 8 years. But it's an open loan so I can pay it down more if I want. Have some stuff that I will finish paying off in 2015, then I can start paying it down faster. So only about $165 bi-weekly. Loving it so far, just going to change the radio deck and then maybe add a sub.
