All of the new EX models come with a leather wrapped steering wheel

I stopped by the local dealer today and discovered all EX models ship with a leather covered steering wheel now. The leather on the EX steering wheel is a bit more textured than the EX-L steering wheel. All of the fits have the start button too.

They said the L edition is another $1,500.00.

This dealer automatically tints the rear windows, applies a sealant on the car and wheels, and includes the floor mats and cargo mat. The salesman said the tint is $599.00.

They said the out the door price for an EX including tint, sealant, floor mats and cargo mat, after tax(Texas) and license is about $21,500.00 and for the Ex-L is about $23,000.00.

What do you folks think?

Kinda surprised,

Susan

I bought an EX for $19,750 out the door over the weekend. Mine doesn't have a leather steering wheel though, not did other EXs on the lot. Are you sure it wasn't a dealer add on?

Ah, I hadn't thought of that. Great point.

Hmmmm, that would be nice, but... this 'more textured part' is a clue that maybe it isn't a new factory feature added mid stream for 2015. I do recall that the Canada FIT EX trim level comes with leather steering wheel according to the specs here:

$21,500 seems high to me. My EX came out to 19,*** before the negative equity from my Challenger hit it...

I think the title of this thread should have L after the EX.

"All of the new EX-L models come with a leather wrapped steering wheel"

My EX came with a horribly slippery cheap plastic steering wheel.

I would visit another dealer for comparison. Tint for $599.00 is very high. I had my daughters Fit tinted for about half that price (and that job included a 4" sun strip on the front windshield and a tinted sunroof). As for paint and tire sealant, you can do these yourself for about $25.00 in product, along with some personal love and attention. And, unless your willing to amortize the cost of the floor mats and cargo cover for whatever the term of your loan is, I would purchase them from cheaper sources, and pay cash.

I paid $23k this weekend for an EX out the door, no leather wrap but has rear tint (has a goldish hue)

This includes:
Wheel locks FREE
Shell spray coating stuff FREE
3m door edge FREE
Splash guards FREE
Cargo mat FREE
Hard shell cargo cover thing $300
All weather mats (includes stock carpet mats as well) FREE
Interior foot well illumination $300
7 year maintenance FREE
7 year/120k extended warranty includes roadside assistance (I do a lot of driving) $968

I think it was a fairly good deal in the end. Dealer cost including delivery was $18,300. if you could get out the door paying anything less than dealer msrp ($19,200) with free addons, I'd be surprised.

19,200 + 1,500 extra addons + 2,300 tax not bad IMO

Did yours have any addons Brian?

I picked up our EX this past Friday and it doesn't have leather wrap on the steering wheel (and that plastic is cold!). Thankfully wheelskins are not too expensive and work well with an hour of installation work.

I sell Hondas. 21,000 is too high for just the car. They basically just charged you for all the add-ons and that was your price.

Steering-wheels are only leather wrapped on EX-L Model.

This is a really old thread. The OP has not posted anything since 1/20/2015. I almost responded to this thread when I realized it sounded familiar, and sure enough, I already did respond back in January.

I can tell you I paid MSRP of around $21k for EX-L with Navi. I had the tinting done by a professional off-site for around $380 using the expensive Viper film.

Only EX-L model have factory leather for steering wheel, seats and shift knob. Lucky it's easy to swap out the shift knob for a leather which makes a huge difference in the feel.

There isn't anything wrong with dealer add-on for leather wheel if done right.

But I just hate when dealer add on these things and charge for them as extras. They should leave them alone and let the customer decide. Sometimes the dealer will either reduce the cost or free of charge.
