Can anyone help with OEM leather wheel and shift knob in manual EX? Does anyone have part numbers for if it is even possible to install leather wheel in car without shift paddles. The EX wheel is a skinny piece of crap, so I want a leather wheel.

 

The CVT leather shift knob is available for about $44 online.

I purchased at Honda Parts Unlimited dot COM because it was closer to CA and shipping was less than the 2 east coast recommendations. They are a Honda dealer in Phoenix, AZ.

It took a few minutes to pop the plastic piece off the front, but once done, the old one slides up and out. There is a video for replacement that someone posted here:


I found the stock leather wheel in the EXL to be no thicker than the EX wheel and rather than deal with the disassembly of the stock wheel and risk of the airbag, I went the wheelskin route. Posted over here for details. I've been pleased with the thicker wheel and feel and it took a few hours to install.

 

Yes you can get a leather wheel without paddles. See if you can source an EX leather wheel from a Canadian dealer. They came standard on EX models both manual and cvt.
I'm sure you could order a leather shift knob from a Canadian dealer as well as you could get a manual transmission in an EX-L Navi

 

Manual with leather available in Canada, with automatic climate control. I'm jealous. I wanted a manual, which is why I don't have leather seats.

New OEM leather wheel will fit without paddle shifters. Wheel will come with just inner frame and leather outer. You transfer your other components from your steering wheel onto the leather one. Search for my post on installing one pics will show you what I mean.

 

Canada dealers sell a leather steering wheel for CVT or manual. The part is described as a "grip" and the part number is 78501-T5A-N21ZA. As someone else described, the wheel grip is transferable between CVT and manual.

College Hills Honda and Sons Honda sells online. Both have good seller ratings on Google but I have not yet bought my wheel so I cannot provide a personal review of any of these sellers.
