At 9000 my pretty new Fit EX began to emit "broken" noises from the underside of the car when I drove on rough roads. Took it into the dealer and the mechanic rode along, with his head out the window. Coming from the front. A stabilizer in the front of the car had come loose. Tightening it up seems to have fixed it. Can't say that I'm full of confidence in this car with something like getting out of the factory. Oh, and paint has begun to chip along the thin edges of the doors. I'm wondering if it's the new Mexican plant operation.

 

Yikes! I hope they went up and checked torque specs on the whole suspension.

 

Notblake, thanks for the suggestion. That hadn't occurred to me, but seems like a reasonable thing to ask. I'll go back to the mechanic, but I suspect he didn't do more than just find and fix the one problem.
