Fog light broken in less than 2 months -_-
Finally got my car washed for the first time (3,500 miles) and discovered the driver's side fog light took a rock. Why don't these have plastic lenses??? They stopped using glass in headlights years ago. I remember as a kid we had issues with rocks and our 91 Civic Wagon. After replacing headlights twice, my parents found an after market or OEM plastic shield to protect them.
Has anyone found any after market fog light assemblies that will fit and have plastic lenses or are the assemblies too small to have plastic because of heat? Has anyone found an aftermarket one that has DRL where the shroud fits USDM yet?
Honda wants $83.18 for the assembly. I doubt any of the extended warranties and extended service covers this. Anyone know how to replace it? Any videos?

I covered mine with XPEL (paint protection film available on ebay) because they are susceptible to damage being low to the ground. It may not eliminate a direct hit with a large rock, but the extra cushion should help eliminate some damage.

Mine broke after about 2 months and less than 1000 miles. Mine was the drivers light was well.
The part is $45 from Bernardi if you order online. That was the cheapest I found.
It is SUPER easy to change out. Less than 5 minutes to do. Seriously, do it yourself.
All you have to do is pop off the black plastic shroud, remove two screws to remove the old light, unplug it, plug in the new one, screw in the new one, pop the shroud back on and you're done.
I also echo what tbFit recommends. The films help a lot.

Is there any trick to popping off the black plastic shroud? I tried prying various places from the front and only got about 1/8 inch gap between bumper and shroud before backing off. Is there a hidden clip in a corner and I just need to pry until something snaps (but not breaks) free?
(It would have been much simpler if the GK kept the shroud screw on earlier Fit models).
Thanks in advance.
