Comparison between 2015 Fit and 2016 Miata MX5

Some guys are comparing the two models of all things over at the Mazda MX-5 forum. If interested it is a interesting debate.....

I've been on the track with (and in) plenty of Miatas. There handling is far superior. For starters the center of gravity and roll center is much lower, RWD... Not really comparable, although it is interesting the Miata guys are the ones that initiated the conversation.

No point at all, but that is how some people think over on the other side. Some are just fanatics when it comes to cars for some reason and they just talk cars, cars, and more cars.

I would take the new Miata over pretty much every car on the planet.

A car that exists solely to bring pleasure to its driver, what a brilliant concept.

Alas, the very notion that the experience of driving should be "pleasurable" seems to be more and more an alien concept to most people.

Years ago, I promised my wife if we won the lottery I'd buy her a Subaru for winter and a Miata for summer. Once upon a time she had an MG Midget.

I test drove a Miata a few years back, it is definitely a fun car, no doubt. Practicality.............that's another subject. But yeah, the two cars a worlds apart in almost every way and a comparison is pretty meaningless.

Until there aren't any kids or dogs in the house, I have a 4 door hatch. Luckily, Honda wanted me to be able to have fun- but comparing it to a purpose built funmobile just doesn't make sense.

I traded in a MX 5 2006 GT Miata on my new Fit. .The Miata really is a true sports car and the Fit is not. Power is apox the same but I could take corners at speeds that 'might' roll my Fit over multiple times. .

I had a 2000 Miata (before kids). It was a blast and I smiled every time I got in. Such a nicely balanced car with an intoxicating exhaust note.
