Active Noise Cancellation
Active Noise Cancellation
Hi all, I recently installed an 8 inch bazooka in my fit sport. I am still using the factory radio. So now when i hit a bump on the road or wind in the car I get weird sounds and bumps from the sub. This happens with the radio on or off. I was told by the installer that I need to unplug my active noise cancellation mic. I've done a few searches online but came up with nothing. I've read that civics have 2 mics. The dealer said the fit one has one. I will be pulling the map light assembly to look in there later today. I have also gone though all the menus on the radio. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
The microphones (2 in the EX) are located in the radio-left of the "power" button, and right of the "eject/brightness" buttons (page 218 of the owners manual). I am unaware of any noise cancelling function they might have other than adjusting volume according to the background noise level. If you were to disconnect them, voice commands and hands free talking wouldn't work, either.
Not sure where the mics are located in the LX.

I'm not saying there's not a noise canceling microphone in the roof, but I don't know if there is or not. I don't have a service manual for the car (not available yet), and the owner's manual makes no mention of it.
This car is way smarter than I am.

Look at page 248
I was hoping to keep the factory radio. I checked behind the map light and found nothing. I think it's hidden somewhere in the dash. When I bang on the steering wheel with my hand it booms thru the sub..... I also went to the local honda dealer and they had no clue.
That's for the "hands free" function in the LX. In the EX the mics are located in the radio unit. Nothing about "active noise cancelling," though.
All this is, of course, moot, since the OP is apparently talking about an older Fit, not a 3rd Gen.
